India bans Tiktok and 58 other Chinese application


India has banned famous applications like Tiktok, UC browser and more 57 application as a result of outrage against recent clash at Ladakh .

After the clash, India has stopped importing goods from China and this outrage seems to exist in Chinese government as well. After the clash on June 15,Ministry of Electronics and Information and Technology, India declared a special commission for investigating all the application that are made in China and are available in India.

According to the reports, the research concluded that these application were directly or indirectly causing risk to privacy of Indian Citizens with questionable security issues. Sources from intelligence agencies suggested that the apps have been violating the terms of usage, compromising users privacy, and being used as spyware or malware. The list of the application that were blocked today are as follows:

The list include widely used apps like Tiktok, ShareIt, CamScanner, Du Application, UC browser, Clean Master, Likee and Vigo. These applications were widely used by Indian audience for entertainment or security purposes. The government of India released a notice that further investigation is to be made regarding more Chinese applications. Also, government of India released a notice mentioning “Country of origin” mandatory for sellers listing their products in the Government e-Marketplace as a sole purpose to boycott Chinese marketers in Indian market.

It seems that this step taken by government was complete outrage against the clash that happened on June 15 and it is a clever move by Indian Government to suppress the domination of China on Indian Market as most of these apps were very famous and widely used by Indian Audience.

Fun Fact: Indian government’s TikTok account MyGov, having over 1.1 million followers was also disabled from Tiktok after the decision made by the government to block Tiktok and other applications.
